DESIGN-BUILD FOR LARGE INDUSTRIAL FACILITY
Diede Construction served as design-build contractor for the Archer Daniels Midland Corporation sweetener distribution terminal in Lodi, California. The terminal is used to store, blend and ship food-grade sweeteners. Sweeteners handled at the facility include corn syrup, high-fructose corn syrup and sucrose for use in carbonated beverages, fruit canning, ice cream, jams, jellies, and other food and beverage applications.
Design-build work consisted of 13,500 square feet of metal buildings to house the sweetener boiler, truck scales, truck loading equipment, truck wash and the operation personnel offices, including quality control laboratories. Design-assist and construction scope of work included grading, underground utilities, freight car rails and unloading equipment, tank farm, and process piping and equipment. Diede self-performed all concrete work including heavy vehicle drive areas, foundations for the tank farms and metal buildings. DDC also handled the erection of metal buildings.
