CARE FACILITIES RENOVATION
Built in the 1980s, the building housing Kokua Kalihi Valley’s elder care facilities was overdue for renovation. This intensive project, funded through state, city and county grants, included:
Removal of a vertical weight-bearing post, replaced with a horizontal steel beam.
Renovation of restrooms to bring them into ADA compliance.
Plumbing upgrades throughout the building.
Replacement of the air conditioning system.
Removal and replacement of a front deck.
Installation of underground French drain system.
Installation of waterproof CMU walls below ground, with backfill.
